What’s it like to work with the Edges?

The best photographs are the ones that feel natural and capture “you”.  After working together for 6 years and 150+ weddings, we have found the right balance of fun and relaxed to put you at ease in front of the camera.  We want to tell the story of your day as it unfolds naturally, only giving direction when needed for the best lighting or background.

How do you describe your style?

Fresh.  Genuine.  Filled with life.  We want your photos to be loved and enjoyed for generations, so its important for us that they have a timeless quality.  No crazy colors, wacky angles, or cheesy poses.  Just beautiful imagery that tells the story of this amazing celebration in your lives.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes!  Our passports are ready to go.  We have photographed weddings in Bali, Ireland, France, Mexico, and Hawaii.

What is a “first look”?

Traditionally, all of the bridal party and family portraits take place during cocktail hour.  Many couples are now choosing to see each other before the ceremony so that all of this can be done earlier in the day and the rest of the evening can be enjoyed with their guests.  We plan 10-15 minutes for the “first look” so that you can spend some time together and we are quietly in the background capturing the moment.

Should we do an engagement session?

Its a great way for us to get to know each other better and for you to get comfortable being in front of the camera.  We suggest doing something that is personal to both of you – like hanging out around your neighborhood, having a glass of wine at your favorite bar, the park where you walk the dog, or an activity that you do together (surfing!  riding bikes!  skiing!).

How many photographs will we receive?

In general, you will receive 80-100 edited images for an engagement session, 150-200 for a rehearsal dinner, and 600-800 for a wedding.  There’s a lot of magic that happens behind the scenes after a wedding.  We color-correct and lightly retouch every image, so it usually takes 4-6 weeks for final delivery on a flash drive (half this time for engagement sessions).  The photos will also be uploaded to an online gallery and you will be able to share the link with your loved ones – including the out-of-town guests who couldn’t make it!

What is the process for booking?

To hold the date we require a signed agreement and deposit of $2,000 with the balance due on the wedding day.
